“Mom says she is fine.”But you are noticing missed meals, falls, confusion, or changes in her daily routine.

You may live far away. Your parent should not have to face each day without the support they need.

When something has changed

Most families do not call because of one single event.

They call because the small changes are becoming harder to ignore—and harder to manage from another state.

The calls feel different

Your parent repeats questions, forgets conversations, sounds anxious, or stops answering at expected times.

The home is changing

Meals, laundry, housekeeping, bills, appointments, or basic household routines are no longer being managed consistently.

You are constantly worried

You are relying on neighbors, friends, quick visits, or incomplete telephone updates to understand how your parent is really doing.

  • Falls, near falls, or increasing unsteadiness
  • Missed meals, weight loss, or poor hydration
  • Difficulty bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Confusion, repetition, or memory changes
  • Medication reminders being overlooked
  • An aging spouse becoming overwhelmed
  • Isolation, loneliness, or reduced activity
  • More support needed after a hospital or rehab stay

Long-term care at home

When a few hours are no longer enough.

Some seniors need support throughout the day and night because of dementia, falls, mobility limitations, nighttime confusion, personal-care needs, or an aging spouse who can no longer manage alone.

1:1

Personal attention

We listen carefully, learn the family’s concerns, and help discuss the level and schedule of care being considered.

We care about you

The person you are worried about is not simply another name on a schedule.

They are the person who raised you, advised you, worried about you, and was there when you needed them.

We understand the fear of making the wrong decision, the guilt of not living closer, and the emotional weight of watching a once-independent parent need more help.

Our role is to listen, help you understand the available private home care options, and assist with caregiver referrals based on your family’s requested needs and schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Questions families often ask before arranging care.

Can I arrange home care if I live outside Florida?

Yes. Gulfshore regularly communicates with adult children and family representatives who live outside Southwest Florida. We can discuss your concerns, requested services, proposed schedule, and the caregiver referral process by telephone.

How do I know how many hours of care my parent needs?

The appropriate schedule depends on the parent’s daily routine, mobility, personal-care needs, memory, ability to remain alone, home environment, and available family support. Some clients need several hours; others need overnight, live-in, or 24-hour care.

What if my parent refuses help?

Resistance is common. Families may have greater success when support is introduced gradually and framed around companionship, meals, escort assistance, household help, and preserving independence at home.

Can care be increased if my parent’s needs change?

Families may request schedule changes or additional caregiver referrals as needs change, subject to caregiver availability and the referral arrangement.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

Gulfshore provides private-pay home care support. Services arranged through Gulfshore are not billed to Medicare or Medicaid.

Can Gulfshore help with long-term care insurance claims?

Yes. When a client has a long-term care insurance policy, Gulfshore can work with the client, family, and insurance carrier to help facilitate the claim and reimbursement process. Coverage, eligibility, approval, and reimbursement are determined solely by the carrier under the policy.
